Cleopatra, Blinded By Love
|
The Queen of the Nile, she lay on her throne; And she was drifting downstream on a barge that was burnished with gold. Bright purple of sail, so sweetly perfumed; And poor Marc Antony's senses were drowned and his future was doomed. They were blinded by love....
On that fateful day, as the battle of Actium raged; She raised up her sail and set course for home. Marc Antony sailed, to his lovers side; He abandoned his legions to drown in the sea.
They were blinded by love....And it's no use crying or weeping, You had better lock up your soul for safe keeping....promise me.
Alone and distraut, his head swimming with wine; In an act of remorse he fell to his sword. He was blinded by love.... Having taken refuge, in her mausoleum of gold; Cleopatra succumbed to the bite of a poisoned asp. She was blinded by love....
So lovers beware, if you lose your heart; Be careful now, that you do not lose your mind; Don't mortgage your soul to a stranger........ Don't be blinded by love.

Cleopatra, Queen of the Nile, Daughter of Isis. She did what she had to do for her people.
As she looks down upon us here, through the ages, she raises her head to the moon, sun and stars. She smiles upon us, and blesses us, with thanks.......
